Today Autistic Inclusive Meets Community Group AIM CEO Emma Dalmayne and our Patron David Gray-Hammond had a meeting with Jenny Wilkes, Interim Director of Mental Health and Rebecca Bauers, Director of Learning Disabilities and Autism at the Head Office of the Care Quality Commission

They delivered two reports by David on the failings of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and the petition Stop Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services Denying Support For Autistic Kids:

The petition has now reached 213, 627 and has been handed in to 10 Downing Street.

They discussed the failings of CAMHS and Mental Health in general, with there either being no care at all or overzealous sectioning to ATU's. David spoke about the reports he has made and his own experiences of being failed by CAMHS. Emma showed them the letter from CAMHS turning down her son Damien and using his diagnosis of autism as the reason.

They also spoke about the parent blame that happens when you apply for help, non is given then the child falls further into crisis with mental health services failures being

They told them about an advisory group to the CQC of autistic and learning disabled people, they are sending us both information about it as we would both like to apply.

It was a productive meeting.

They are keeping in contact with us and will be meeting with us again later this year, it was a pleasure to meet them both.
